How to Cancel Home or Car Insurance
If you have recently changed your home or car insurance provider or sold a car or house, you need to cancel your insurance policy. This is not a difficult task, but most insurance companies do require a cancellation notice in writing. If you have a mortgage you are required to carry homeowner's insurance and you cannot cancel one policy until the other is in effect. Law requires you to carry car insurance as well, and you should not cancel the policy until you have another in place, unless you sold the car.
