How to Upgrade Dreamweaver 8

Visit Adobe's Dreamweaver upgrade web page. The page is linked in the Resources section, and it will allow you to determine your eligibility for special pricing as an owner of Dreamweaver 8.

Click on the price that is listed next to the "You Have" column's Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 and the "You Want" column's Dreamweaver CS5" ($199 as of October 2010). A popup window will appear.

Keep the first field on the page. It defaults to "Upgrade."

Select "Upgrade from Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4 or Macromedia Dreamweaver 8" in the Version drop-down menu.

Choose "Windows" or "Mac" as your platform.

Specify a language in the Language field.

Select "Download" or "Ship a Box to Me" in the Delivery Method field.

Choose a quantity.

Click on "Add to Cart." This will cause the next screen to appear.

Confirm that your order is correct on the new screen. Clicking on "Checkout" completes that process.

Enter your Adobe identification (ID) and password or register for an Adobe account. Clicking on "Continue" finishes that task.

Pay for the upgrade. This includes selecting a payment method and entering your payment information. To continue, click on "Review Order."

Review the product license agreement. To continue the purchase process, click on "Place Order."

Install the program using the downloaded .exe file or the compact disc. That will upgrade your Dreamweaver 8 program to Dreamweaver CS5.
