How to Store Asparagus Crowns
Asparagus is a healthy and tasty early-spring vegetable that is high in vitamins A and C, riboflavin, thiamin, niacin and various minerals, according to Cornell University's Department of Plant Pathology. Asparagus crowns, or roots, do best when planted in fertile and well-drained soil. Store-bought asparagus can be pricey, so save money by growing your own vegetables using high-quality crowns. If you don't plan on planting the asparagus crowns right away, store them properly to keep them in good condition. Does this Spark an idea?
