How to Find Obituaries Run in Newspapers
With many relatives and old friends now living in separate states, it has become harder to keep track of those who have died. This may not be a pressing concern for those in their 30s, but for those in their 80s used to relying on newspaper obituary columns, it can be hard to keep track of deaths of acquaintances. However, the Internet has now made searching newspaper obituaries simple.

Click on the state you desire to see recent obituaries for and select the relevant newspaper from the list.

Wait to be redirected to your chosen newspaper site. Read the obituaries online.

Go to the Obituary Daily Times Web site (see Resources).

Click on "Search database" and enter the surname of the person you believe has died.

Look at the listings that come up to see if there is an obituary for the surname you entered. Make a note of the local paper in which the obituary appeared.

Visit Internet Public Library to access the paper and read the obituary.

Select the state you wish to see obituaries in and then choose a specific paper from the list.

Wait for the Web site of the paper you have selected to open. Look for a link to the obituaries section of the paper.
