How to Operate an American Flyer Whistle

The American Flyer Whistle is a replicated whistle sound for users of the American Flyer model train railroad systems. The distinctive sound replicates the famous Nathan airchime whistle, according to the Portlines website. Some of these American Flyer Whistles are purchased through private sellers and do not come with an operation manual or instructions. Luckily, the American Flyer Whistle is easy to operate and enjoy by following a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Place the generator on the control box. The control box is the device with which you will operate your American Flyer Whistle.

2. Insert the four prongs into the holes from the generator to the control box. The prongs fit easily in; put the two small prongs into the small holes and the two larger prongs into the larger holes.

3. Place your American Flyer train on its track. Be sure that the train fits snugly on the track and that no wheels are off.

4. Turn the power on and press the control box button. This will make your American Flyer Whistle blow.
