Visiting the country on your own time can be luxurious and exciting -- as long as you have an idea of where you are going. Mapping your road trip before you leave lowers the risk of getting lost and ruining your trip by missing desired locations.

Choose your destinations based on your interests. Cities or small towns that have great food, certain museums, particular activities or family are possibilities.
