How do I Install a Whirlpool DU6000XR Dishwasher?
The Whirlpool DU6000XR dishwasher is an under-the-counter dishwasher that measures 33 7/8 inches in height and 25 1/4 inches in depth. It requires a 120-volt, 60 Hz, AC-only, 15 or 20-amp fused electrical supply with proper drainage and a hot water pressure supply of 20 to 120psi that will reach 120 degrees. Once you have removed your old dishwasher, you are ready to install the Whirlpool DU6000XR dishwasher with a few tools and some plumbing and electrical knowledge. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn off the electricity to the dishwasher from the circuit breaker box.

Turn off the water supply going to the dishwasher from underneath the sink.

Place your Whirlpool DU6000XR dishwasher in the under-counter space where the old dishwasher was.

Unscrew the lower front panel of the Whirlpool dishwasher. It has two screws on the bottom of each side. Set the panel and screws to the side in a safe place.

Unscrew and remove the electrical box cover from the lower front of the dishwasher and set it to the side.

Disconnect the drainage hose from your garbage disposal. If you do not have a garbage disposal, disconnect the drainage hose from under the sink. It is located either under the air gap, if you have an air gap, or at the waste tee behind the drain trap.

Remove the hose clamp from the drainage hose and set the drain hose to the side.

Grab your new drain hose that came with the Whirlpool DU6000XR dishwasher and attach the hose clamp to the new drain hose.

Push the new drain hose through the cabinet holes where you removed the old drain hose and connect the new hose to the garbage disposal with your screwdriver. Again, if you do not have a garbage disposal, connect the new hose to the air gap or at the waste tee behind the drain trap.

Connect the drainage hose to the bottom hose located on the dishwasher using the hose clamps and connect the water supply to the connector on the dishwasher. Push any remaining hose neatly into the space under the dishwasher.

Connect the copper electrical wire to the green screw on the dishwasher and tighten with the screwdriver. This is located where you removed the electrical box cover in Step 5.

Pull the electrical wires through the electric box and connect the two black wires by twisting them together and secure with a wire cover. Connect the two white wires by twisting them together and secure with a wire cover. Push all the wires into place and make sure all of the screws and wire covers are tight.

Replace the electrical box cover and tighten the screw. At this point you should also screw the lower panel back into place.

Open the dishwasher door and secure the dishwasher to the counter with the two Phillips head screws that were included with the dishwasher.

Turn on the water supply and make sure there are no leaks. Turn on the electricity and test out the dishwasher.
