How to Lower & Fold the U.S. Flag With One Person
The United States flag ceremony includes a tightly defined set of parameters for how to raise, lower and fold the national banner. Each rule of retiring the flag for the night requires that two people be present to remove the flag from the line, hold it waste-high and then use a triangular fold. There are times, however, perhaps at the start of rain, when only one person is available to lower and fold the flag. In this case you can amend the protocol while still following the main requirement of never letting the flag touch the ground.
