Instructions

    • 1

Measure the exact length and width of the drawer using measuring tape.

    • 2

Unroll the contact paper on a flat surface with the patterned side facing down.

    • 3

Sketch out the measurements for your drawer with a pencil, starting from a corner. Most rolls of contact paper come with guide lines printed on the back. Use them as a reference to ensure that your lines are straight.

    • 4

Cut the contact paper along the sketched lines using a craft knife or scissors. A craft knife will usually give you a cleaner edge.

    • 5

Brush any dust and debris out of the drawer using a clean, dry cloth.

    • 6

Without removing the backing, lay the contact paper in the drawer to confirm that it is the correct size. Use the pencil to mark any areas that need trimming.

    • 7

Start at one edge of the piece of contact paper and peel the backing down about 2 inches, exposing a small strip of the adhesive side.

    • 8

Hold the top corners of the strip and line it up with the edge of the drawer.

    • 9

Pull the contact paper taught and carefully press it down so it is flush with the edge of the drawer.

    • 10

Smooth any air bubbles out of the paper by pressing and sliding a clean, dry cloth across the top of the surface.

    • 11

Use one hand to peel away the rest of the backing from beneath while pressing down with the cloth in your other hand to adhere the paper to the bottom of the drawer.
