How to Design a Resume Card
Social networking is an important aspect of finding a new job or finding new business for your current job. The problem is that you'll never know when a networking opportunity will arise. You can be at a work function, an obvious place to meet others in your field of work, or you can meet a person by chance in your grocery store. You should be prepared for all situations by having a resume card on hand. A resume card is a compact version of your full resume printed on business card stock. It gives people a short yet succinct look at what you have to offer.

1
Choose a design for your card that is simple and straightforward. Card stock is only 3.5 inches by 2 inches, so your space is limited. Try to stick with only black text and use a font that is easy to read. Also, make sure that you keep the word count limited since you don't want your resume card to look overcrowded. You want all of your important information to pop out to the reader and not be lost in a sea of text. Utilizing bullet points will help.

2
Write your personal information on the front side of the card. This includes your name, e-mail address and telephone number. You can also include your address if you want that known. Any other important information that may be pertinent to potential employers, such as websites or the name of your business, should also be included.

Write one or two educational highlights on the back of the resume card. You can just write the name of the school you went to and the degree conferred if you went to a well-respected school. In other words, the name of the school speaks for itself. If you went to a smaller school that is not well known, write down one highlight such as a solid GPA, honors, or an academic award. Remember to keep your writing simple and short.

4
Highlight your professional accomplishments under your educational achievements on the back of your resume card. Again, keep this short and simple and only include your most important accomplishments. For example, major awards or your largest employer would be important information to know about you. Writing every single employer you ever had may not be as helpful.

Tips & Warnings
Proofread your resume card once your done writing it. Make sure every word is spelled correctly, all the information is accurate and the entire card reads smoothly. This resume card represents who you are to other people. Even the smallest error can reflect badly on you. Having another person look over your card will also help.
