How to Connect a Laptop to the Local Telephone Network in Italy thumbnail
It is possible to connect to the Internet via dial up in Italy.

If you have a dial-up service provider (such as NetZero or Juno) it is possible to connect to the Internet anywhere in the world, as long as you have a telephone line available. This includes any local telephone network in Italy. Although you must adjust some of the settings on your Internet provider's startup screen, connecting to the Internet via dial up in Italy is no different than in the US.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Internet connection program you use to access the Internet via dial-up.

    • 2

Sign into your account, which displays the dial-up options.

    • 3

Select the telephone number you use to connect to the Internet (the default number you use at home). Set the city or town in Italy as your current location, after which you will receive a series of new phone numbers local to that area.

    • 4

Choose one of the presented telephone numbers, then click "Connect."
