2. Obtain start-up materials through the company you have chosen or design and print your own. You will need marketing materials, collection boxes or bins and shipping supplies. Recycling companies often provide free shipping, which saves you money on postage when you send in the empty cartridges for pay.

3. Place collection boxes in local businesses. Ask the office manager to encourage employees to place all empty ink cartridges in the collection box. Make arrangements to collect the cartridges on a monthly basis. Do not miss your collection dates. Treat each company as a valued client. Without them, you have no business. Send thank-you notes to all companies you are collecting empty cartridges from on a regular basis.
