How to Join the Phoenix Gang

During the Shield of Arrav quest, RuneScape players must join one of two rival gangs: the Phoenix Gang or the Black Arm Gang. Each of these gangs has stolen half of the Shield of Arrav. Your choice of gang will determine how you will complete the quest. If you successfully join the Phoenix Gang, you will be able to access the gang's weapons' storage.

Instructions

1. Go to the library in Varrock Castle and speak with Reldo. He will give you a quest: to find a book called "The Shield of Arrav."

2. Search the library's bookshelves. The book, marked with a blue and white shield, is on the top shelf.

3. Read the book and choose the Phoenix Gang.

4. Speak to Reldo again. Ask him about the Phoenix Gang. He will direct you to Baraek, the fur trader.

5. Leave the castle and head south. Find Baraek in the north-eastern corner of the main square.

6. Pay Baraek 20 coins for information. He will reveal the location of the Phoenix Gang's hideout.

7. Go to the hideout. It's in the south-eastern corner of the city.

8. Climb down the ladder to enter the headquarters.

9. Speak with Straven, the leader of the gang. Reveal that you know his identity and he will give you a task: kill Johnny the Beard.

10. Go to the Blue Moon Inn, a bar northwest of the hideout. The beer sign on the map indicates the bar's location.

11. Kill Johnny the Beard. As he dies, he will drop an intelligence report.

12. Deliver the report to Straven at the Phoenix Gang's hideout. Straven will make you a member of the gang and will give you a key to the hideout.
