Using a rotisserie oven is a low-fat way to cook chicken. Instead of cooking in its own trans fat, the chicken is slowly moistened as the fats and juices drip around it to the bottom of the rotisserie oven. The characteristics of a rotisserie cooked chicken are a moist, tender meat and a crispy, brown outer skin. Fill the chicken with some tasty ingredients and you have a flavorful meal for your whole family. Does this Spark an idea?

-
4
Dry the chicken by patting with the paper towel.

Cover the inside of your chicken with 1 teaspoon of salt. Ingredients such as lemons, oranges or garlic cloves should be placed inside of the chicken cavity. Mix the herbs or spices of your choice with the softened butter and spread evenly underneath the skin of the chicken.
-
6
Position the chicken securely on the rod of the rotisserie spit. Run it through the center of the chicken.

Tie the legs of the chicken together with a string so that the filling inside the chicken will not fall out. When this is finished, tie the wings of the body by wrapping the string all the way around the chicken.

Fasten the rotisserie spit forks to the rod by pressing them into the breast of the chicken. Tighten the attachment by securing with the wing nut. Make sure that the chicken is well balanced on the spit.

9
Soak some kitchen twine in water and tie the tail of the chicken to the rod of the rotisserie spit.
-
10
Add any butter flavoring by spreading it thoroughly over the outside skin of the chicken.
-
11
Place the spit, now holding the chicken, on the spit supports inside the rotisserie oven.
-
12
Consult the users manual for the rotisserie oven to find out the length of the cooking time. Set the suggested cooking time according to weight. Leave the door of the oven slightly open during the cooking period.
