How to Use a Round Butter Keeper
Nothing can ruin the perfect piece of toast or a warm biscuit fresh from the oven like a slab of cold, hard unspreadable butter. Butter can last at room temperature in a butter dish for a day or two but like all things dairy-based, it requires a modicum of climate control. That necessary control can be found in a butter keeper. The unique design allows butter to be kept fresh at room temperature for a prolonged period of time. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup butter
- Butter knife or small spoon
- Round butter keeper
- 1/3 cup room-temperature water
Instructions

1
Pack the butter into the small basin located in the lid of the butter keeper with a butter knife or small spoon. Make sure the top of the butter does not extend past the edge of the ceramic basin.
-
2
Fill the bottom of the butter keeper base with 1/3 cup of room temperature water. It is OK to use cooler water, but it will eventually return to room temperature.
-
-
3
Place the lid of the butter keeper on the base with the butter pointing down. Once the lid and base make contact the water will provide a seal that will keep the butter fresh at room temperature for up to 30 days.
