Does this Spark an idea?

1
Make sure that you cannot find either your door lock keys or the spare set of keys. Once you're absolutely sure that you need the lock re-keyed, you'll need to locate someone who can perform the service for you.

2
Call local locksmiths and check with home improvement stores that have keying services available. Compare rates, and find out if the service will come to your house to re-key the locks or if you'll need to remove the lock to take it in. If the latter, then you need to unlock the door, open it and from the inside of the door remove the bolts that hold the knob and locking mechanism in place. Obviously, if you're locked out this isn't going to be a possibility.

Get your locks re-keyed. Since the job likely exceeds the capabilities of those who don't have training as a locksmith, it's best to trust the professionals to get your new set of door lock keys. Once you have the keys, test them to make sure they work.
