How to Glue Rhinestones Onto Glass
Gluing items to glass allows you to create a number of different decorative items to spruce up your home. One inexpensive way to decorate a glass item is to adhere rhinestones, little plastic colored jewels, to it. Adhering plastic to glass requires a special type of adhesive and a few necessary steps, both before and after the application of the stones to the glass, to get the best results. With a little time and effort you can have a gorgeous decorated vase, mirror or other glass object for your home.

1
Mark out the design you want to accomplish with the rhinestones using a pencil on your glass item. Make the marks small but dark enough to see. You may find it helpful to roll up a piece of paper and stick it inside the glass item to provide some backing for the small marks to stand out against.

2
Pour the rhinestones you are using out on a paper plate. Pick one rhinestone up at a time with a pair of tweezers so the bottom of the rhinestone is facing out.

3
Place a small amount of the adhesive on the bottom of the rhinestone and a small amount on the glass object where you want to adhere the stone. Wait a minute before placing the stone on the glass object.
-
4
Place a small piece of clear tape over the rhinestone to hold it in place while the glue cures. Adhere all the rhinestones in this same manner. Remove the pieces of tape after 24 hours to allow the glue time to cure enough so the stones are held in place on their own.

Tips & Warnings
A room with a temperature of 70-to-85 degrees Fahrenheit is an ideal space for working with E-6000 glue.
Marking out your design before you start gluing is important because of the strength and quickness with which the adhesive will form a bond. Cured E-6000 glue requires you to chip or cut away the adhesive and then to soften it with mineral spirits to remove the remainder of the glue.
Keep E-6000 adhesive off your skin as it is a very strong adhesive. If you do get some on your skin, remove it immediately with acetone. Nail polish remover containing acetone will do in a pinch.
