How to Troubleshoot Toshiba Satellite M35X With Limited or No Connectivity
The message "Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity" appears when the Toshiba Satellite M35X fails to connect to a public or private network. The message may indicate a problem related to your network or its hardware.
Loose cables, disabled network adapters and password-protected connections can prevent your M35x from connecting to the Web. Check your network's physical configuration, run Windows' "Network Diagnostics" and perform a few extra troubleshooting steps to bypass the "limited or no connectivity" error.
Instructions
-
Check the Hardware
-
1
Coaxial cable Tighten each side of the coaxial cable leading from the wall jack to the rear of the modem.
-
2
Ethernet cable Confirm that the other end of the Ethernet cable connected to the back of the modem is secured to the WAN, LAN or Internet port located on the rear of the router.
-
-
3
Unplug the AC adapters from the rear of the modem and the router. Wait 60 seconds. Reinsert the AC adapter into the modem's power jack.
-
4
Wait from 60 seconds up to two minutes for the modem to finish powering on. Reconnect the router to its AC adapter.
Run Network Diagnostics
-
5
Click "Start" on your Toshiba Satellite M35X. Type "diagnostics" into the search box.
-
6
Choose "Identify and Repair Network Problems" from the results in the left pane. Windows Network Diagnostics will launch and scan your Toshiba Satellite's Internet connection for errors.
-
7
Follow the onscreen instructions to review the results and perform troubleshooting steps to repair your connection.
Other Troubleshooting Methods
-
8
Locate the wireless switch installed on the front of your M35X. Flip the wireless switch to the "On" position to enable the wireless adapter.
-
9
Review your router's documentation to determine whether you need a password to access the network. If you're using the Internet through a public connection, ask the appropriate personnel whether there is a password required to connect to the network.
-
10
Contact your ISP. If you cannot connect to the Internet after troubleshooting your Toshiba laptop and your network, the problem may be on your service provider's end.
