How to Play the Apple Jack Game
Dice games are simplistic, yet fun and challenging for adults and children. They don't break your budget because all you need are some dice and your enthusiasm to play. Apple Jack is a dice game where you need two players and 10 dice. The rules of the game are based on another dice game called Cheerio. The average duration of each game is about 20 minutes. The object is to gain the most points by scoring high in several categories while forcing your opponent to score low.

1
Take five dice each. This game requires two players. Determine which one of you is to be the caller for the first turn. The players alternate who will be the caller for each turn.
-
2
Each player rolls all five of their dice at the same time. After looking at their rolls, each player decides whether to roll any of their dice again. During each turn, both players have two chances to roll any of their dice again.
-
-
3
Decide whether to roll any of the dice again or hold. When both players are satisfied with their dice and decide to hold, the turn is over and the caller picks what category to score in.
-
4
Choose the category after each turn. If the caller picks the sum category, both players count the total sum of the numbers they each have showing on their dice. If the caller picks a numbers category, points are based on how many of that number are showing on the dice. For example to score more points, choose the number 4 category, because you have five 4s and your opponent has only one 4 showing on their dice.
-
5
Complete the first round by each of you calling a different category each time you roll, so that all seven categories have been scored. Play the second round the same way.
-
6
Count all the scores and the one with the highest total score at the end of both rounds wins. Score each category as follows: Count the sum of all of your dice for the sum category. For number categories, count the number on the dice. For example, if you have two 3s, you score 6. Count 30 points for three of a kind. Count 40 points for four of a kind. Count 50 points for five of a kind. Count 30 points for a run of four. Give 50 points for a run of five. Give 40 points for a full house.
