How to Install Ear Plugs

Hearing impairment can result from constant exposure to loud music.

Our world seems to be getting noisier each day with blaring music in bars and nightclubs, ear piercing construction work, whirring from lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and the steady hum of traffic. Once damage has been done to your hearing, it cannot be reversed. It is therefore crucial to wear protective ear covering if you work in an environment where you are constantly exposed to loud noises. If you are susceptible to ear infections, it is advisable to wear ear plugs when you are swimming. Earplugs are available in disposable and reusable varieties, using materials such as plastic, rubber and silicone.

Insert the plug into the ear and hold it there until it expands, about 20 seconds. As the ear plug expands, you will notice that you can no longer hear the noises around you.

Check to see if it is working by quietly listening. If you can hear any noise, remove the ear plug and do it again. When removing ear plug, do it slowly by twisting it gently, so you don't damage your ear drums.
