How to Install Ear Plugs
Our world seems to be getting noisier each day with blaring music in bars and nightclubs, ear piercing construction work, whirring from lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and the steady hum of traffic. Once damage has been done to your hearing, it cannot be reversed. It is therefore crucial to wear protective ear covering if you work in an environment where you are constantly exposed to loud noises. If you are susceptible to ear infections, it is advisable to wear ear plugs when you are swimming. Earplugs are available in disposable and reusable varieties, using materials such as plastic, rubber and silicone.

Preventive measures play a large role in our daily health. Wash your hands with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Clean hands are extremely important in preventing infection.

Ear plugs come in a variety of materials. Using a firm motion to avoid any wrinkles, create a small, smooth cylinder with the
disposable ear plug using one hand.

Reach with the other hand behind your head and pull your ear outward and upward to widen the ear canal. Opening your mouth sometimes helps.

Insert the plug into the ear and hold it there until it expands, about 20 seconds. As the ear plug expands, you will notice that you can no longer hear the noises around you.

Disposable ear plugs should be discarded after each use. Check to see if it is working by quietly listening. If you can hear any noise, remove the ear plug and do it again. When removing ear plug, do it slowly by twisting it gently, so you don't damage your ear drums.

The gift of hearing is precious, so protect your ears. Reusable ear plugs need to be inspected and cleaned in soapy water after each use. Rinsed them, dry and store them in a clean container. Inspect them thoroughly before each use and discard any that are damaged.
