How to Donate Cars to the Salvation Army in New Jersey
The Salvation Army was formed by evangelist William Booth to help those in need. It is funded by donations. Donating a car or truck is one option; car and truck donations go directly to fund programs for rehabilitation. According to The International Heritage Centre, "The National Headquarters was incorporated as a religious and charitable corporation in the State of New Jersey in 1982." The Salvation Army in New Jersey provides Emergency Assistance; Summer Youth Camping; Military and Veterans services; Emergency Disaster Services; and Rehabilitation Centers.

Navigate to the New Jersey Division Website of the Salvation Army. Place your cursor over the word "Donations" on the top blue bar. Move your cursor down to "Car Donations" which is the second option. Click on "Car Donations."

Fill out the "Vehicle Donation Processing Form" and click "Submit." You should receive a call within three days of your informational submission that will provide you with a stock number and arrange for a pick-up time.

Sign over the title at pickup. Your vehicle will be taken away at no charge to you when you donate it to the Salvation Army in New Jersey.

Tips & Warnings
You will receive a tax deduction for your car donation. If the car is operable, it will be auctioned and you will receive information on your deduction after it is sold. If it is inoperable, you will receive information within 30 days of the vehicle salvage.
Call the New Jersey division at 888-999-2769 if you prefer to start the process over the phone or have questions. If you are outside New Jersey, call 800-728-7825 to arrange for pick-up of your vehicle.
