How to Make a Border Around an eBay Gallery Picture
Pictures, as eBay points out, help you increase your sales. Photos and images make your listing stand out and give buyers more details about your product. One way to enhance an eBay picture is to add a border. Borders separate pictures from the surrounding webpage and give it a look of professionalism. Using the free Paint program that comes with Windows 7, you can add borders to your eBay gallery pictures quickly.

Open the Picture

Click the Windows 7 "Start" menu button and type "Paint" in the search box at the bottom of the menu. Click "Paint" to open the program.

Press "CTRL+O." The "Open" window will appear and display the folders and files on your hard drive.

Navigate to one of your eBay gallery pictures and double-click it. Paint will open it on the canvas.

Click the arrow next to the "Home" tab at the top of the window and select "Properties." In the "Properties" window, you will see values in the "Width" and "Height" text boxes. Enter slightly larger numbers in the text boxes. For example, if the width and height are 400 and 500, change them to 450 and 550. Click "OK." Paint will add extra white space around the picture.

Press "CTRL+A" to select the picture. Your mouse cursor will change to a cross hair.

Click the left corner of the picture, hold down the left mouse button and draw an outline around the picture. Release the mouse button.

Left-click the picture and hold down the left mouse button. Drag the picture to center it within the canvas. Release the mouse button when the picture is centered. A white borders will surround it.
Color the Border

Locate the "Color 1" button, which allows you to change the color of the border. Color squares will appear to the right of the button. Click the color that you want to apply to the border.

Click the "Paint Bucket" tool in the "Tools" section of the ribbon.

Click your picture. The border color will change to the color that you selected.

Click the arrow next to the "Home" tab and select "Save As." A menu will open and display a list of file types, such as PNG and JPEG. Click one of the file types. The "Save As" window will open.

Enter a name in the "File Name" text box and click "Save."

Tips & Warnings
To make the picture's border wider, enter larger numbers for the width and height in the "Properties" window. Enter smaller numbers to make the border narrower.
