How to Find a New Email Address When Old AOL Screen Names Are No Longer Good thumbnail
You can usually find an email address even after a person has dropped an AOL screen name.

You need to contact your friend who has dropped her AOL screen name. Now what? When someone abandons an AOL screen name, you cannot use that screen name to find a current email address. There are ways to find an email address other than through an old AOL screen name.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to a social networking site, like Facebook, MySpace or Twitter. Search for the person's name using the social networking site's friend finder or contact finder. Try elements from the old AOL screen name. People might use the same screen name or similar names.

    • 2

Use the AOL Buddy finder in your AOL Instant Message service and search for the person using a first and last name. She might have a new screen name, and from that you can find her new email address.

    • 3

Search for the person in your own email program's contact finder. If the person has a new email address using the same email system you do, you can find her as a contact through your email program.

    • 4

Send an email to her old AOL screen name and see if it comes back with a reply. Sometimes, when a person stops using a particular email address, she sets the email account to automatically reply to queries with an email that lists a new email or contact information.

Use an online email finder such as my.email.address.is, people.yahoo.com or person.langenberg.com (See References). These email finders can find new email addresses from names, addresses or phone numbers.
