How to Apply for & Get Government Contracts
Fed Biz Opps is a government website where you can apply for federal business opportunities (see "Resources"). Vendors and citizens can search, monitor and retrieve opportunities from government officials who have posted various government contract opportunities. You can also search for a variety of contract opportunities within its database. To apply for these government contracts, you will need to have a legal business name and your company's information to sign up with the Fed Biz Opps website.

Go to the Fed Biz Opps website. Click the link "Register Now" under "Vendors/Citizens." Follow the registration steps according to whether you are a vendor/citizen. You may have to wait three to four hours for your email confirmation. Once you receive your confirmation email, click on it. Enter your username and password in the fields provided and then click "Login."

Click the "Opportunities" tab button on the top of the page. You will see three tabs: "Opportunity List," "Advanced Search" and "Archives." Click the "Advanced Search" to choose the state, date and the opportunity/procurement type and active opportunities or click the "Opportunity List" tab to browse through the list of opportunities.

Browse through the list of opportunities. Once you see an opportunity that catches your interest, click the "Add Me To Interested Vendors" button.

Wait for the opportunity to be chosen from the contacting officials. If chosen, you will be contacted by the contracting officials and provided with further information about the contract opportunity.
