How to Size a Watchband thumbnail
A well-fitting watchband is an investment in comfort and style.

Whether you are purchasing a new watch or replacing the watchband of an existing timepiece, getting an exact measurement is the best way to ensure proper fit. Different varieties of watchbands (metal, leather, etc.) have different sizing schemes so be sure to take down your measurement in both inches and millimeters to accommodate any scale. Accurately sizing your wrist before committing to a watchband is much simpler than having to adjust the length of your watchband after the purchase. Does this Spark an idea?

Measure your wrist's circumference. Place end of tape measure at the center of your wrist and wrap around once. Record the reading in both inches and millimeters.

Measure the space between the lug ends of the watch (where the watchband will connect to the watch's face), if you are simply replacing the strap on a timepiece. Write down this measurement; it's usually somewhere between 14 and 24 millimeters.

Find a watch with a strap length that fits your wrist. Make sure to factor in the width of the watch face (about one inch). Adjust your watch strap for comfort and fit. Follow instructions included with metal watch straps for adjusting them to the proper length.
