How to Fix a Windows Logon Loop

A Windows logon loop happens if the computer has recently been affected by a virus. Another cause for the logon loop is a system glitch in the computer programming. Fixing the looping issue requires logging into the computer via an alternate method and removing the virus from the hard drive of the computer.

Instructions

1. Turn the computer off by pressing and holding the "Power" button on the computer tower. Wait for one minute and turn the computer back on.

2. Interrupt the computer startup process by pressing the "F3" key when you see the black computer screen with white writing.

3. Use the "Down" arrow key on the keyboard to highlight "Use last known good configuration." Press "Enter."

4. Type in the password at the "Log on" screen. Run the antivirus software on the computer by double-clicking the antivirus icon.
