How to Start Advertising Your Own Nursing Agency

How to Start Advertising Your Own Nursing Agency thumbnail
Getting clients requires effectively advertising your nursing agency.

The elderly population in 2009 represented approximately 12 percent of the U.S. population in 2009 that year, according to the Administration on Aging, and this percentage is expected to increase to 19 percent by 2030. As this segment of the population grows, some seniors will choose to remain in their homes rather than move to a nursing home or assisted living facility. Nursing agencies and home health organizations provide the services these individuals need to remain in their own homes. If you've just started your own nursing agency to cater to this target population, it's important that you learn how to start advertising your agency.

Instructions

    • 1

Network with doctors. Attend luncheons, meetings, conferences and other events catered to professionals employed in the health-care field. Meet providers at these events that have elderly patients. Give them information about the services your agency provides, and encourage them to refer clients in need of your services to you.

    • 2

Attend community health-care activities. Sign up to attend or participate in any upcoming community health-care activities. This includes health-care fairs, wellness checks and other events that allow you to advertise your nursing agency to the public.

    • 3

Focus on your target demographic. Identify locations where elderly residents in your community gather or visit frequently. Consider community centers and buildings that house activities or programs for retirees and seniors. Develop flyers, brochures, table tents or other items to promote your business at these locations.

    • 4

List your agency with referral organizations. Contact your local United Way and city or county department of aging. Ask to have your nursing agency placed on their referral list. This list is given to individuals who inquire about nursing services.
