How to Flash BIOS on a GA-X48T-DQ6
The Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 is a performance-oriented motherboard supporting Intel processors and DDR3-SDRAM. After releasing the motherboard in 2007, Gigabyte has released two updates to the firmware core, or BIOS, for the GA-X48T-DQ6. These GA-X48T-DQ6 BIOS upgrades enable support for newer processors not available at the time of the motherboard's release. If you own this motherboard and are considering upgrading the processor, or have already upgraded and are experiencing problems, a BIOS upgrade is an appropriate troubleshooting step.

Close all running programs and disable your antivirus software to prevent a problem from occurring during the update.

Browse to the Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 BIOS download page (see Resources). Make sure that the "Downloads" tab is selected, and then click the "HTTP" download link under the most recent BIOS revision ("F6" as of 2010). Save the resulting file to the desktop.

Double-click the file "motherboard_bios_ga-x48t-dq6_f6.exe" on the desktop when the download is complete. The utility creates three files on the desktop: "autoexec.bat," "flashspi.exe" and "x48tdq6.f6."

Download the Gigabyte @BIOS utility for updating the motherboard BIOS within Windows (see Resources). Save the resulting file to the desktop.

Double-click the file "motherboard_utility_gbttools_gbt_atbios.exe" when the download is complete.

Click the "Extract" button. This creates the new folder "atBIOS" on the desktop. Open the "atBIOS" folder.

Double-click the file "setup.exe" and follow the prompts on the screen to install the @BIOS software on your computer. Launch @BIOS after the software finishes installing.

Click the "Update New BIOS" icon.

Click the "File Type" drop-down in the window that appears, and select "All Files."

Navigate to the desktop and double-click the file "x48tdq6.f6."

Click "Update" to complete the motherboard BIOS update.

Tips & Warnings
After the BIOS update is complete, you can safely uninstall @BIOS and remove all of the files and folders created on the desktop as a result of these steps.
