How to Play a 1080P Signal Through a Component Video

The 1080p designation is used to describe a high-definition video image with 1,080 lines of vertical resolution. Virtually all HDTV sets are capable of displaying this level of picture detail, either from a connect cable or satellite receiver source, or with a Blu-ray player. One way to transmit this high-definition signal from a source to the TV is through a component video cable with three colored plugs on each end. Each plug matches a jack color on the components for simple connections.
