How to Install a Keyless Entry on a 2008 Nissan Sentra

The value of having a keyless entry installed on your car is found in the safety it provides. A keyless entry can be installed on the 2008 Nissan Sentra at home, if you have a separate key and remote. If the key and remote are the same unit, you will need to take the car to the dealership.

      Lock all the doors, by using the power door lock switch, located on the driver's side of the car. Insert, and remove, the key in and out of the ignition 6 times within ten seconds. Make sure to end with the key out of the ignition and to withdraw the key completely from the ignition. The interior lamps flash once you have successfully completed this step.

      Insert the key into the ignition, and turn the key to the "ACC" position. The "ACC" position is the position before starting the car. Press any button on the keyless entry remote within the next 5 seconds. The "Hazard" lights flash when completed correctly.

      Turn the key to the "Off" position; remove the key from the ignition, and unlock the doors, using the driver's side power door lock switch. Open the driver's side door, then exit the car, and shut the door.
