How to Edit a Date Stamp
The first time you turn on any digital camera, you are prompted to set the date and time. The camera then includes the date and time in the metadata it attaches to every picture you take as a permanent electronic record of when each image was shot.
Many digital cameras don't change the time stamp automatically for things such as daylight savings time, travel across time zones or hiccups that can happen when batteries run out of power. When those things happen, you will need to edit the time and date stamp yourself.
The process is the same on nearly every brand of digital camera.
