How to Order Irish Gifts

How to Order Irish Gifts thumbnail
Gifts from Ireland can easily be ordered on the Internet.

With about 39 million people of Irish descent living in the United States as of 2010, according to the United States Embassy, Irish heritage is alive and well for many Americans. Irish gifts may be given by anyone, not just the Irish: Many people who have no Irish heritage still enjoy celebrating Irish holidays such as St. Patrick's Day. Irish gifts can be ordered direct from Ireland through several Internet sites that ship all over the world.

Instructions

    • 1

Access an Internet website that offers Irish gifts. There are a number of Ireland-based sites that sell Irish gifts (see resources for options.)

    • 2

Choose an appropriate gift from the site. Some traditional Irish gift options include fine crystal (Waterford and Cavan are well known makers), pottery (Royal Tara and Belleek are examples), Irish clothing crafted from tweed and Irish jewelry (Claddagh and Celtic knots are popular themes).

    • 3

Click on "Order" or "Add To Cart" to place your chosen gift items in a virtual shopping basket.

    • 4

Click "Proceed To Checkout" or "Checkout." Wait for the screen displaying your total to load.

    • 5

Complete shipping information form and payment information.

    • 6

Choose the shipping option you prefer. Most Ireland-based gift companies offer free standard shipping to countries outside of the European Union; check the company policy when you select your shipping method.

    • 7

Secure an order confirmation number. Some companies will email this to you and others will simply display the order confirmation information after the payment has processed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Select "US Dollars" or the symbol of the United States flag during the checkout process to get a total cost in U.S. currency. Most Ireland-based sites display prices in euros.

  • If you are unable to get prices in U.S. dollars before checkout, use a currency converter (see resources) to get an accurate total.
