The Clarion 6 Disc CD Changer is a vehicle-based CD player that houses up to six CDs at a time. The device is typically placed in the trunk of the vehicle or by the driver's feet. If you are experiencing playback issues with the Clarion CD Changer, you need to perform a few different troubleshooting steps to correct the problem.

Step 1

Inspect the wires running into the back of the Clarion CD Changer. If the wires are not inserted completely the audio signal is not sent out to the in-dash stereo player.

Step 2

Open the front panel of the CD changer and look over the CDs. Make sure the CDs are inserted with the label facing up. You also want to check the bottom of the discs. If they are dirty the CD changer is going to skip. Wipe off the CDs with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust stuck to the bottom.

Step 3

Spray a few shots of compressed air into the CD changer. Aim the spray towards the reading lens in the player. If the lens is dirty all of your CDs are going to skip.

Step 4

Position the Clarion changer on a flat surface. If the changer is propped up against the side of the trunk it is more likely to skip being at an odd angle.

Step 5

Inspect the fuse that controls the CD changer. If the fuse is damaged the player is not receiving electrical power (look in your user manual for the exact fuse location). Change out the fuse to return power to the CD changer.
