How to Remove Scotch Double Sided Tape

  • Hobby knife
  • Hair dryer
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Sponge
  • Paper towels

Instructions

    • 1

      Scrape the double-sided tape with a hobby knife to loosen it. Use the hobby knife to pry it up around the edges as well.

      Apply a drop of liquid soap to a sponge soaked in warm water and moisten the tape.

      Scrape off what you can of the double-sided tape with the hobby knife.

      Heat the remainder of the double-sided tape with a hair dryer on a low, warm setting.

      Scrape off the rest of the double-sided tape with the hobby knife. Maintain the soaping-warming-scraping process until all that remains is adhesive residue.

      Pat the area dry with a paper towel. Apply rubbing alcohol to a clean paper towel and use the alcohol to dissolve the remaining adhesive residue.
