How to Track the Database Changes in MS Access 2003

If you want to track the changes you've made to a database created in Microsoft Access 2003, you can do so using the "Shadow Copies" functionality of the Windows 7 operating system. MS Access databases are among the file formats supported by the shadow copy feature in your operating system, which allows you to view each saved version in the history of a database as its own separate file.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on the MS Access database file you want to track. Click "Properties."

    • 2

Click the "Previous Versions" button. In this window you will see a list of every saved version of the MS Access 2003 database file that has ever existed.

    • 3

Double-click on a listing for a version of the database to open it. You can open multiple databases and compare the edits made to the various versions. Once multiple versions of the same file are opened at the same time, you can visually compare the contents of each to see what has been changed between the versions of a single database. Each version you open will appear in a different program window on your monitor.
