How to Stop Leaks in an Aerobed
If your Aerobed loses pressure and you know cold temperatures or a faulty valve are not the source of the problem, the mattress probably has a leak. Finding and patching a leak in your Aerobed is a simple process that can save you money. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Dish soap
- Bowl of warm water
- Sponge
- Aerobed patch kit
- Vinyl shower curtain liner
- Rubber cement
- Fine grit sand paper

Mix a few drops of dish soap in a bowl of warm water to make a sudsy solution.

Fill the Aerobed completely with air.

Rub the soap solution over the mattress with a sponge starting at one corner and working from left to right in sections. When bubbles begin forming, you have found the leak.

Cut a 1-inch by 1-inch patch of vinyl provided in the Aerobed repair kit. If you do not have a repair kit, cut it from a vinyl shower curtain liner.

Apply the adhesive provided in the Aerobed repair kit to the back of the patch and place it firmly onto the leak until the glue dries. If you do not have a repair kit, use rubber cement instead of the Aerobed adhesive.

Tips & Warnings
If the mattress has a fabric coating, you may need to sand it down so the patch will adhere more tightly.
