Data Safe Won't Back Up
Data Safe is a data backup program that comes with your Dell computer. This program is used to back up files and folders from your computer to an online data storage facility in the event of a virus attack or a system malfunction. If your Data Safe program isn't working properly, you will be prompted with an error code. You can use this code to determine what the problem is with your program.

Check your Internet connection to make sure that it has not gone offline.

Reset your router or cable modem if needed.

Double-click on the "Data Safe" icon on your desktop.

Click the "Backup" button to restart the backup.

Wait for the backup to finish.

Exit out of the Data Safe program.

Relaunch the program.

Restart your computer if the "Login" screen does not come up.

Re-enter your username into the "Login" screen.

Re-enter your password into the "Password" field. Log in to the Data Safe program. Click the "Backup" button and wait for the backup to complete.

Exit out of the backup program. This error means that you have a corrupted file on the backup set. Click the "Start" button and then click the "All Programs" option.

Click the "Accessories" tab and then right-click on the "Command Prompt" option.

Click "Run as administrator" from the menu and then enter your password into the field provided.

Type "sfc /scannow" into the Command Prompt and press the "Enter" key to access the Windows File Checker.

Wait for the file checker to complete and then restart your computer. Relaunch the Data Safe program and perform your backup.
