How to Cut Parchment Paper thumbnail
You can bake a variety of foods in or on parchment paper.

Parchment paper is used as a non-stick surface for baking fish and other foods. Since parchment paper can withstand high heat, it is used to wrap meat, fish, vegetables and sauces prior to baking in an oven. When baking, roasting or steaming food in a parchment pouch, the flavors are able to mix and mingle. You can place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet instead of using grease, or use it as a substitute for wax paper. Parchment paper is sold in a roll similar to aluminum foil and can be cut easily with scissors. Does this Spark an idea?

Place the parchment paper box next to the item, such as a baking sheet, you want to cover.

    • 2

Unroll the parchment paper so it's the same length as the baking sheet. Tear the paper off using the blade on the box or by using a pair of sharp scissors. Set the parchment paper on top of the baking sheet.

    • 3

Create a circular piece of parchment paper to fit inside a round cake or baking pan. Tear or cut off a piece of paper a little larger than the bottom of the pan you want to cover.

    • 4

Fold the square of parchment paper in half. Fold the paper in half once again.

    • 5

Fold the paper into a triangular shape to form a point at the bottom. Hold the tip of the parchment paper in the center of the pan. Rest the end of the paper against the rim of the pan. Cut off the excess paper, which extends beyond the rim, using the scissors.

    • 6

Unfold the circular-shaped parchment paper and place it in the bottom of the pan.
