How to Create a Media Release Pack
The purpose of a media release (press release) pack is to alert the media about you and your new projects. When done the right way, your media release pack will be your "calling card" that gets you into media venues. Your press release pack should be very professional, informative and well put together.

1
Include a professional headshot of yourself or photo of your team, along with a short bio. The bio should include your name, where you are from and past accolades. If you have already made a few media appearances, mention the names of the shows.
-
2
Include a short synopsis of your new project. The synopsis should be a summary of what your project is about or what inspired the project. Explain why the news media should be interested in your project. The goal of the press release is to let the press know their readers or listeners would be interested in your project.

3
Include short review snippets from individuals who have submitted feedback regarding your project.
-
4
State whether or not you are available for bookings and media interviews. If you are, be sure to include a telephone number or email address where you can be reached. You can also include a mailing address, just in case a media representative wants to send material or invitations through the mail.
-
5
Include a sample of your project. If the press release is for a book, send a copy of your book. If it's for a CD project, include a copy of your CD.
