How to Remove Boat Stickers

Remove boat stickers in a flash.

If you buy a used boat, you will most likely be faced with the task of removing old stickers from the hull. Decals in the forms of letters and numbers are very common on boats as forms of identification. You also may need to remove stickers on your own boat if you want to change identifying information concerning your property. Do it yourself with a few simple tools.

Things You'll Need

• Blow dryer
• Plastic ice scraper
• Adhesive remover
• Rag

Instructions

1. Direct the heat from a blow dryer on its lowest setting at the sticker. Keep the blow dryer about six inches away from the sticker itself.

2. Lift one edge of the sticker after you've heated it thoroughly (which usually takes about two to three minutes). Use a plastic ice scraper if necessary.

3. Pull the rest of the sticker up slowly and gradually.

4. Apply an adhesive remover to a rag and rub off any remaining residue left from the sticker.
