How to Use a Canon Powershot SD600

The Canon PowerShot SD600 is a point and shoot camera developed for ease of use. Point and shoot cameras get their name from the act of simply pointing and shooting, rather than using the various settings on a single lens reflex (SLR) or digital SLR camera.

Instructions

1. Set the time and date when you first turn the camera on. Scroll left and right to choose which setting to use and then up and down to change the setting. Press "Func/Set" to confirm saving the changes.

2. Push the "Mode" switch up to the top (toward the icon of the camera). This puts the camera in auto shoot mode. Look in the viewfinder and choose what you want to photograph. Press the shutter halfway down to focus, and then when focused, press the shutter all the way down.

3. Push the "Mode" switch down to the "Play" icon at the bottom. This puts your camera in "View" mode. Press left and right to scroll through your images.

4. Insert the software CD into your computer and complete the onscreen installation. Connect your camera with a USB cable to your computer. Connect the USB cable to the camera on the right side at the top. Switch to "View" mode. Launch "Canon CameraWindow" from the "Start" menu. Select "Download the Images."
