How to Make a Free Baby Shower Card

Attending a baby shower entails bringing gifts and good wishes to the guest of honor. Even though some expectant mothers register for gifts so that shower guests know what to get for them, a gift of money is almost always appreciated. Making a baby shower card doesn't take very much skill and can be done using a range of craft and art materials.

• Construction paper
• Scissors
• Craft glue stick
• Silk ribbon roll
• Mesh fabric sheet
• Markers

Instructions

1. 

   Construction paper comes in a range of colors.

   Fold an 8-by-11 sheet of construction paper in half. Choose a color that fits the theme of the baby shower. For example, a light pink card is ideal for a mom who's expecting a girl.

2. Measure the edges of the folded card. Cut a length of silk ribbon matching these measurements. Choose a color that contrasts with the color of the construction paper while fitting the theme of the baby shower. For example, a baby pink card and white silk ribbon looks pretty together.

3. Spread some glue from a craft stick along the edges of the front of the folded card. Apply the silk ribbon over the glued edges, creating a border of sorts.

4. Select a square of 8-by-8-inch mesh fabric. Spread glue along the edges of the mesh square.

5. Open the folded construction paper card and then affix the glued square of mesh to the inside of the card. This creates a sort of pouch for holding money or another small gift.

6. Use markers to create a meaningful, personalized message to the expecting parents. Let the card dry for one hour before stuffing into an envelope of accommodating size.
