Let the laminator heat up for the required time. Each machine requires a different heat-up time, and usually when it is properly heated a light will go on. Don't try to laminate documents before the machine has reached the proper heat settings or the glue between the two laminate sheets will not adhere properly.

2
Select the proper lamination pouch. To successfully laminate a document you must choose a pouch that is the appropriate thickness or rigidity for your document. Pouches also come in different sizes, so select one that matches your document as closely as possible.

3
Use a test document to test the heat of the machine and to ensure you don't ruin important documents. Testing will help you get a feel for the machine and know how to insert the sheet properly.

4
Insert the document into the pouch. Use the pre-sealed edge as a guide for the straightest results. When inserting the document, use the cardboard carrier that came with the machine. This will make sure the document is inserted straight.

5
Make sure there is enough room for the document to exit the machine. When the document exits the machine, place it on a flat surface to cool. If any bubbles have formed, rerun the document at a higher heat setting.
