How to Dial an International Call From the USA

There are a few extra steps when calling internationally.

Dialing internationally is not like calling your friend across town. Besides the phone number of the party you are calling, you need to know which country your party is in. There are a few things you will need to know so you don't call Austria when you are trying to call Australia.

Instructions

1. Locate the "Country Code" for the country you are going to call. If you don't have that available you can find it on Internet.

2. Locate the phone number of the party you wish to call. If the phone number you have starts with a zero, drop the zero when dialing. The zero is used sometimes when calling within their country.

3. Dial "011" plus the "Country Code" plus the phone number and you are calling internationally from the United States.
