How to Find and Download Torrent Files with Vuze
File sharing, Internet codes and computer jargon may seem confusing to most people, but finding and downloading media files online for personal use is a basic process that everyone can accomplish. Vuze (previously Azureus) is a BitTorrent client used to transfer files via the BitTorrent protocol. In other words, Vuze is an application that allows users to view, publish and share original CD, DVD and high-definition-quality content. Vuze's peer-to-peer file-sharing method distributes large amounts of data, including television shows, music videos, movies and video games.To jump on the BitTorrent bandwagon, all a user needs to do is download a free version of Vuze and start searching for valid media files.

Download and Install Vuze. Links for Vuze Plus and the free version of the software are in Resources. The Vuze Plus version is not free, but it is recommended for users who want anti-virus protection while downloading media files from unknown third-party sources.

Open Vuze and browse the interface to get comfortable with its sidebar menu and navigational tools at the top.

Look at the left-hand sidebar menu. The Getting Start tab in the sidebar, as well as the search bar above the menu, can be used to find desired media files.

Type in the search field "Night of the Living Dead (1968)" as an test, and click the magnifying glass icon to proceed with the search. "Night of the Living Dead" is an American independent black-and-white zombie film directed by George A. Romero in 1968. It received critical acclaim and was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry. The film entered the public domain because the original theatrical distributor, the Walter Reade Organization, neglected to place a copyright indication on the prints. In a general context, public domain refers to copyright, patents, trademarks, ideas and information that are "publicly available," and intangible to private ownership or available for use by members of the public. As of Oct. 31, 2010, "Night of the Living Dead" is the Internet Archive's second most downloaded film, with 708,608 downloads.

Adjust the search settings by typing in keywords, setting the file-size range or limiting categories in the Advanced search filters section in the right-hand side of the application.

Review the incoming search results for "Night of the Living Dead (1968)" in the center of the application pane. Users should only select results that are highly ranked and have many positive comments. This will assure users of a speedy and virus-free download. Click the title of high-ranked link results to preview the content and screen its comment and vote section.

Download the selected copy of "Night of the Living Dead (1968)" by clicking the blue download arrow at the top of Vuze's navigation bar. A copy of the media file will be stored in Vuze's Library and onto the computer's hard drive.

Monitor the file's downloading progress by selecting "Downloading" under Library tab in the left-hand sidebar of the application. The file will appear in the center pane, along with remaining time and approximate speed.

Select "Unwatched" under the Library tab in the sidebar to access the finished download. The file's title will be in the center pane. Select the title and click the blue "Play" arrow at the top of Vuze's navigation bar to play the film through the BitTorrent application.

Tips & Warnings
Vuze offers a range of HD movies, TV and video on its HD Network. To access the film archive, go to the Vuze HD Network tab in the sidebar of the application.
It is illegal to download copyrighted content from the Internet, depending on the copyright and license information for the particular media file. There are some movies, songs, books and other media formats available on the Internet, otherwise known as public domain files, that can be legally downloaded.
