How Can I Maximize the RAM for My Sony Vaio PCG-FRV25 for Speed?

The Sony Vaio PCG-FRV25 laptop runs the Windows XP operating system. After owning this computer for awhile, you may find the laptop to be sluggish and unresponsive due to a lack of memory space. To rectify the problem, spend a few moments installing more RAM in your Sony Vaio laptop.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the laptop. Remove all cords and cables. Wait for the device to cool down, which takes about 10 minutes.

    • 2

Turn the laptop over and remove the battery. Remove the screw in the middle of the laptop with a screwdriver.

    • 3

Separate the tabs on either side of the memory module. This releases the module. Slide the module out of the slot.

    • 4

Match the notch on the new module up with the knob in the slot. Slide the new module in at a 45-degree angle. Press down so the new module lies flat.

    • 5

Put the compartment lid back on and insert the battery. Plug the cables and cords back in and turn on the laptop.
