How to Use a Spinmaster ICEE Maker

The Spinmaster ICEE maker recreates the iced drinks made at many convenience stores.

The ICEE Maker by the Spinmaster Co. replicates the shaved-ice beverages that are commonly found in many gas stations and convenience stores. The device includes mixing components, straws and cups and can be used with different flavorings to make your ideal slushy treat. The ICEE Maker requires crushed ice, salt, water and soda or juice.

Things You'll Need

• 4 "C" batteries
• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Crushed ice
• Salt
• Water
• Soda or juice
• Oven mitts
• Cup

Instructions

1. Turn the Spinmaster ICEE Maker over and use a Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Insert 4 "C" batteries, placing the flat end of each battery against the spring in the battery compartment and pushing gently until the battery pops into place. Screw on the battery compartment door.

2. Attach the large mixing container to the base and lock it into place. Close the dispenser handle at the base of the mixing canister so that the finished drink does not dispense until ready. Fill the ice canister, which is the smaller removable cylinder, with crushed ice until almost full. Leave a small amount of room at the top of the ice. Pour 2 tbsp. table salt onto the ice and then 1 tbsp. lukewarm water over the ice and salt.

3. Close the ice canister lid and pick up the canister using oven mitts or gloves, as the canister will be very cold. Shake firmly for five seconds. Place the ice canister inside the auger and place the blue cover on the auger, lining up the white gears in the cover with the teeth inside the auger cylinder. The auger is a cylinder-shaped holder that is slightly larger than the ice canister and comes with the Spinmaster ICEE maker.

4. Place the ice canister and auger into the mixing camber, lining up the two raised ribs at the rear of the auger with the two slots on the rear of the mixing chamber. Lift and rotate the auger, pressing in the orange knob on the rear of the mixing chamber until the auger and ice canister are firmly set in the mixing chamber.

5. Push the orange lock on the front of the device in and pull the dispenser lever up. Align the turning gears on the auger to attach the blue back panel onto the mixing machine. Turn the "T" locks on the blue back panel until they lock into place. Pour one 12 oz. can of soda or juice into the mixing chamber.

6. Set the top of the mixing chamber on the device, aligning the tabs into the slots on the mixing chamber. Slide the top cover to the right until it's locked into position. Slide the orange switch to "Forward" to turn on the machine.

7. Allow the machine to mix for approximately eight minutes. Pull down on the dispensing lever to dispense the ICEE mixture into a cup.
