Select a Crest Whitestrips product. Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects is the successor to the classic Crest Whitestrips. 3D White Whitestrips Gentle Routine is formulated for people with sensitive teeth or gums. Crest Whitestrips are available over the counter in the dental products aisle of most pharmacies and stores.

Arrange the first application, which is contained in a foil pouch, at your sink. Do not brush your teeth, as brushing might enhance sensitivity to the whitening gel.

Wash your hands, peel the strip from its foil backing and apply the gel side of the strip to your upper front teeth first.

Align the strip just below your gumline. Press the strip against your teeth and fold over the excess plastic.

Gently push the strips against the contour of your teeth to force out any air bubbles. Repeat the process for your lower teeth.

After 30 minutes, remove the strips and discard. Do not eat or drink while the strips are in place.

Brush away any gel remaining on your teeth. Vigorously rinse your mouth with water following removal of the strips.

Tips & Warnings
Apply Crest 3D White Whitestrips twice a day for 10 days. Whiter teeth may be visible in three days, but continue to apply the strips for the full course. The duration of the whitening effect is influenced by certain foods and beverages. Such products as colas, coffee, red wine and tea will contribute to teeth staining. Brushing with whitening toothpastes or supplementing your tooth care regimen with such products as Crest 3D White Stain Shield will help retain whiter teeth.
Crest Whitestrips are infused with an enamel-safe formula of hydrogen peroxide, which oxidizes and removes stain particles from beneath the tooth surface. Wearing the strips longer than the recommended 30 minutes each session can cause tooth sensitivity and gum discomfort. If you notice discomfort even with the recommended time, try the Gentle Routine product which requires application of the strips once a day for five minutes.
