How to Remove Decals With 3M Tape
Decals are made to stick to a smooth surface without peeling off. This makes them difficult to remove when you want to replace or remove the decals altogether. Using cellophane or Scotch tape by 3M, you may be able to remove stubborn decals. While this method is suitable for small decals, it may not work with all decals, especially large ones. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pull a piece of tape off the dispenser that is longer than the decal by at least a half an inch. Fold the extra length tape over onto itself to create a tab at the end of the tape.
-
2
Place the tape on the decal by matching one end of the tape to the edge of the decal and pressing along the decal to the other edge. Run the wooden stick over the tape to remove any air bubbles and make sure the tape sticks to the decal completely.

Pull the tape by the tab slowly until part of the decal lifts up. Use the metal spatula or window scraper under the decal as you continue to pull the tape to help lift the sticker. It is important to go slowly as pulling the tape fast may cause the decal to break and the tape to come off the rest of the decal without removing it.

Tips & Warnings
If the tape does not remove the decal, or there is a danger of scratching the surface the decal is on, such as a painted surface, soaking or heating the decal maybe a safer solution for removal.
