How to Attach Antenna to Dish Satellite Receiver Box
Attaching the satellite dish antenna to the receiver in a Dish Satellite installation is one of the easier parts of the installation. The Dish Network is a major U.S. satellite television service provider and signals are received via the small satellite dish antenna and then transmitted to the receiver where they are converted into signals the TV can process. The connection is made via a coaxial cable. Coaxial cables are inexpensive and durable.

1
Measure the distance between the receiver and the antenna. Purchase enough coaxial cable to easily cover that distance.
-
2
Plug one end of the coaxial cable into the satellite dish antenna. Depending on the unit purchased, different methods will be required to install the receiver. Some receivers have only one coaxial connection and others have three. This can be determined by checking the LNB head on the receiver. The LNB is the gun that sticks out and aims at the dish itself. There will be one to three connections for coaxial cable. Plug one to three coaxial cables into the appropriate ports.

3
Run the coaxial cable to the receiver, and connect it to the "Satellite In" coaxial port on the back of the receiver. Connect the coaxial cable to the receiver. If more than one coaxial cable was connected, then these cables will need to be run to a splitter that came with the unit. The splitter will then connect to the receiver.
